Last time I checked, it couldn't be done. I'm not sure if someone found a way to hack digital boxes, yet.

There's a way to hack satellite cable, but not for the stuff that comes through the hard lined coaxials.

The digital satellite method involves reprogramming the chip, so that it can receive all channels. It basically tells the card in your cable box that it's "testing" the signal and enables it to receive all channels.

As for digital cable, I think the way that the service providers monitor the bandwith is different. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that's why digital cable hasn't been hacked, yet.

I think you have to get a new cable box that has already been hacked. And you don't necessarily need to pay for digital cable. You can get basic cable and use your hacked digital cable box and it should work.

  6. Digital Cable is alot harder/impossible to hack since your feed can be turned off at the cable companies end. Satellite systems on the other hand is a joke to hack since everyone get's the signal except the channels are encrypted. Of course the encryption is very weak and easy to hack. I got an ExpressVu system (Canada's Dish Network) hooked up this weekend, half an hour later I was watching the Pay Per View fight free
