Today a customer gave me a call and asked me to take 10 one minute movie clips and put them on a cd that a computer can view. They want the clips to be selectable like a dvd.
Is a VCD the way to go? Or should I do something in Macromedia Director. What happens when you put a vcd in a PC computer? Will I launch automatically or require special software?
What format should they send me the files in? I want to make sure the project looks good and is easy to use. What is the best way to go?
Thanks

The MPG tracks/files can be selected manually and played through media player. It's not as intuative as you might think.
If you are going for high quality and PC playback I would say use macromedia for the selector and just use TMPGenc to create some high bitrate mpeg-1 .mpg files.
If you want to play the disk back in a DVD player then yes, use VCD. VCD easy also makes it fairly easy to set up simple non-animated menus.
