Hmm....just by looking at the screenshots I can tell you this...
The first screenshot is from DVDx.....which is free
The second is from TMPGEnc...which is free (for VCD's)
I guess they are using something like avisynth to frameserve from DVDx to TMPGEnc....also free
And they want you to fork out 20 bucks -
Even better, they have "discounted" the price from $70!!!
My two favorite quotes are:
"Copy ANY DVD to a CD-R! Yes, the same CD-R's you've purchased in packs of 100 or more can now become an integral part of your multimedia library with EXACTLY the SAME QUALITY as those DVD's you've been forced to shell out upwards of $20 each in stores."
but then at the bottom they say
"This software is solely meant for creating a back-up copy of DVD's and VHS tapes previously owned. This package is intended for personal use ONLY. This product in no way intends to encourage or promote piracy or other illegal activities. Using this software to commercially duplicate copywritten materials is strictly prohibited. "
So I guess you still have to shell out upwards of $20 each, if you're not supposed to copy commercial DVDs...
and
"The thousands of hours spent developing this product for you is worth the ridiculously low price below! How can we say this? Because it's our job to stay on the cutting edge of this technology. "
I have to wonder how much money will be passed on to the ACTUAL developers? -
Typical rip-off, selling freeware or cracked shareware and not cutting the original developers in for any of the cash. Sadly, they will probably sell lots and lots of this to suckers, because - as Machiavelli wrote:
"Because there are three classes of intellects: one which comprehends by itself; another which appreciates what others comprehend; and a third which neither comprehends by itself nor by the showing of others; the first is the most excellent, the second is good, the third is useless."As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
I'd like to take them up on the"exactly the same quality" remark. I don't care who you are....a VCD is not the same as a DVD in either audio quality or video quality.
I've seen a few of these types of packages for sale but I must take offence in the line "The thousands of hours spent developing this product ". How can they claim that they spent this much time burning 3 copies of freeware programs to a cd ??? Either they are idiots or they think we are.
I'd like to see if there were a legal case for the ACTUAL developers. -

All I know is, those city corners had to have some kinda foul odor wafting up...
-
And all them heads on london bridge...would have made for a morbid sight....kinda like a wax museum but with real blood
