If I rip a dvd and encode the main film using smartripper/dvd2avi and tmpenc I endup with a perfect scvd.
But if I do the same with a documentary from the same ripped dvd when I play it back on my standalone dvd it jumps and jerks about ...any help will be great![]()

Your source may be interlaced. Do not use a film template the way you would with most movies, use NTSC or PAL. Go to the advanced tab in TMPGEnc and swap field order. This is often the cause of the jitters.
