  1. I'm kinda new at this but I have a few tv episodes I want to put on VCD so I can watch them in my living room. I want to make a beginning VCD menu with a picture of the program in the background while an audio of the opening theme runs until the VCD is played. Is there an easy way to accomplish this? I would also like the audio to loop through once it is completed. Another question I have is does anyone know if you can have VCDeasy installed along with Adaptec or do I need to unistall Adaptec to use the other?

  2. I read in somewhere that this can be done, although I haven't got time to try it out. The idea is Time Out your menu to a sound track, which should be muxed with no video and your choice of music. May not work on all DVD players.

  3. Yes it can be done.

If you only one image menu with audio sound. Use Tmpgenc, load template you want, use your image file (BMP) as video source, use audio you want as audio sound (wave/mp2). Now you have one mpeg file act like menu. Then you have to use VCDImager to get this menu to work (easier if use TSCV).

You can set TIMEOUT (play next file after finished playing menu) along with LOOP (how many time you want menu to loop) and WAIT (how long do you want to wait after finished playing menu to play next file)

Better yet read vcdimager tuts to make sure you know all the code used in vcdimager.

  4. Hi,

Going back a couple of years i used VIDEOPACK 4 to author
    VCD's.

And i seem to remember it was simply a case of selecting your menu .BMP and then selecting your .WAV file and choosing the number of play loops.

VIDEOPACK 4 is a bit crappy to use but the much nicer VIDEOPACK 5 is avaliable now, and i would imagine similar to use ..

  5. VCDImager +/- GUI is the best way.

Have a look at the guides here:

    Search Comp PM
    I make them like this:
Using TMPGEnc, in the Video Source, select a Jpg or bmp image, then, in audio source put a audio or mpg file of the song that you want. And, just click START. and the result is a mpg, with a background music, and a picture that is displayed all the time that music is played.
