I was wondering what's the MAX file size for one video (AVI) in order for TMPGEnc to work. I recall something about Windows only allowing 4GB max or something. Also, is 4GB the max for encoding in TMPGEnc (i.e. can you encode a 5GB AVI in TMPGEnc to MPEG-1)?

I meant the Input File Size being over 4GB... i.e. converting a 5GB AVI to a under-4GB VCD Standard MPEG-1...

Just to let everyone know, I can confirm you cannot create AVI files larger than 4GB no matter what. Even if you tried to combine two AVI that equal more than 4GB. That also answers my original question.

  5. The FAT32 file size limit is 4 GB, meaning that you can't create any file of any type larger than that. The AVI2 limit is 2GB, and the old (original) AVI limitation was 1 GB. Virtualdub can link multiple AVI files together so that you can edit them as one. You can also use this feature in conjuction with the frameserver to send files larger than 4GB to TMPGEnc for encoding.
