what do you mean the source file is being cut off? the movie is complete, when nero burns it there are no errors, finishes every time. when i watch the vcd, its complete, just looks like a little bit off the top and bottom is cut off the picture, just like if you messed with the controls on your pc monitor and made the picture too long for the monitor so you can't see the top and bottom. that's what it looks like.

  4. It is normal for a DVD/VCD + TV combo to crop off up to 5% off all sides of a video image. If you own any DVDs, you will notice that no DVD menu has anything visually important at the borders.

The lesson here is to make sure that when you make your own S/VCDs that you don't put any important visual information outside of a 10% border.

The demo VCD available for VCDImager has a few test screens that allows you to measure the degree of cropping that occurs on your set-up.

  5. Hi,

I burnt a VCD, "Digital camcorder file" burnt on plextor CDR-RW, after using TMPG Encoder,
This plays via my Yelo 800 DVD through to my TV,
I do not get any "cropping" (not that i want it), just picture fits TV Screen.

    Kind Regards.

  6. Almost every TV will crop part of the image. If not, you would see some crud at the top or bottom of your screen when you play back VHS (which is what you see when you capture VHS on a PC).

If you encoded with TMPGEnc, it may have added a border for you, so that nothing is cropped. How you feel about this is up to you. I personally don't like TMPGEnc adding the border as it is unnecessarily doing an additional resize.

    Regards.

It is most likely due to your TV -- and there is little you can do about it as most TVs will crop to some extent (up to 5%).

    You could resize your video...
