I have VHS tapes that I want to put onto DVD (and I'm in America). If my source is VHS, should I capture at 352 x 240 pixels and then use TMPGEnc to encode to 720 x 480 pixels, or should I be capturing from the VHS at 720 x 480 to start with? Thanks!
Mike

Hi Capture at 720 resolution. Much smoother result, and a hell of a lot better quality. Hope this helps regards paul

DVD supports 1/2 D1 ( 352x480 ) nativly. With VHS source this is a great option, and it's about as smooth as VHS gets. So just encoder 352x480 don't bother to upscale it after the fact.
