For starters this problem only occurs with movies that need to be re-encoded to fit on a single dvdr. Movies that fit normally on a disc i rip the vob files.

    The programs I use are:
    Ripping- SmerRipper
    Encoding- ReMPEG
    Authoring- SpruceUp
    Burning- RecordNow

When ripping a movie to seperate M2V and AC3 files, sometimes SmartRipper shows a AV Delay of -80ms. After the dvdr has been authored there is an extremely slight delay between audio and video. It is noticeable and is incredible annoying to watch.

What do i have to do to get both files to line up perfectly?

not quite sure where you went wrong, and if all you want to do is correct the delay then use AC3Delay to fix it. if ou are using rempeg though why not just load the vob's instead of demuxing them. no reason to demux unless you're going to use a good encoder

thanks for the info, i'll try it out

i didn't know that i could load the vobs straight into rempeg, mind u i never actually tried. Will attempt it later too.

With SmartRipper is it better to rip as one vob or rip in mutliple vobs like on the original?

Does it matter if there is only one vob on the dvdr?

for rempeg you have to make a CFFL script to enter multi VOB's, and i don't think it reall matters if you rip to 1 or multi VOB's. you should also get and learn CCE though, honestly rempeg pretty much sucks as an encoder
