Please help, i am trying to Capture VHS to VCD and i am using a Hauppage Tv Go card, i cannot seem to get any responce of the video on my pc, i am using a scart to composite connection.
I must be doing somthing stupid, can someone guide me??

there are different types of Scart to Composite, one for IN and one for OUT. You need the proper one for video OUT since the one for video IN looks the same.
If you have one whose primary usage is tape dubbing from an analog camcorder, that will NOT do for your current application.
A simple ohmeter linked to the pins will tell you if you have the right cable or not. Check with your VHS manufacturer manual for the pinouts. -
thanks very much for the help, the scart that i have just has two phono plugs that are labled "video" & "audio" i just assumed they would work.
i will pop down to maplins and get a video out scart to phono's.

Now i have a new problem, after i got the correct lead and connected the VCR to the Hauppauge card, the PC now crashes when i open a capture application, so far i have tried to use windows movie maker, Power Director 2.0 and Video Wave III, all of which now crash the pc onece the scart to composite cable is connected.
HELLLPPPP!!!
