  1. Help, haven't changed any setting values fro 50 + successes with DVD2SVCD. Today, get this error message when TMPG attempts the video encoding of rip og "In the Bedroom". What is going on and how do I fix. Many thanks.

If TMPGEnc freezes or crashes when converting or you receive errors such as
    Unexpected decimal point calculation
Illegal floating decimal point calculation order
Try first to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
Or try to convert the audio to wav before converting.
Or try to repair the AVI,DivX or the ASF.
Or try to use avidefreezer to fix your video source.

  3. Thought I would post this follow up just in case it happens to anyone else. Thanks to TK for the input. What was confusing was that the VFAPI env setting priorities had always worked fine the way I had them for both DVD2SVCD and Frameserving dubbed AVI from Virtual Dub. I could see in preview mode of TMPG an avisynth error message. Apparently , somehow this got corrupted , fluke or maybe the wife using the PC for other purposes ( ugh!) concurrent to video processing . Anyway, re-installed DVD2SVCD , and everything was restored.
