I know that VCDGear can create a bin and cue file from a vcd MPG.
Is there any software that can do the same for SVCD MPG files?
I know I can create a CD with Nero and then use CRDwin to make a cue and bin from that burt it is a little longwinded
Many thx

Hello pal,
Yes - VCDEasy (freeware). You can find it under "Tools" on the bar to the left in this website.
Take care -
thx -I just found another one called VCD Imager as well
Have you experience of using both of these?
Which is better?
Any drawbacks?
Cheers for speedy reply -
Hello pal,
Both are the same. VCDEasy actually uses VCD Inager.
Take care -
Yep - done a few SVCD's now
Seems a nice piece of software
I think I will ditch VCDGear in favour of this.
Can VCDeasy tell you very quickly if an mpg file is vcd or svcd and PAL or NTSC. I can see it tells you this after the bin is made, I just wondered if it could give you this info straight away?

I am just looking at this chapter option;
I find the problem with VCD's in my standalone DVD player is I can only get a max of 4x FF speed. It appears with VCDeasy I can set a chapter point say every 5 mins so I can FF to 5min intervals. Is this correct and also will the chapter create any visible difference to the movie while playing it ie I hope it wont freeeze momentarily every time the player passes a chapter point?
Cheers
