    Hi Guys,

I'm buying a DVD Burner very soon, but i can't decide which one to buy.

I'm torn between the Pionier A104 and the HP 200i.

Having read all the reviews on both of them on this site i can see that they can both do the same thing's, with the HP slightly faster in the burning department.

So guys i'm asking you help me decide which one to buy.

    Thanks in advance

I am in exactly the same situation; but I read on the NET that Sony will present a new burner at the end of this year. This will be able to do +R/RW and -R/RW (both formats)

I decided to wait for this unit.

Buy what you can afford. Can't go wrong with either format.

Nah, I think a DVD Multi writer would be more useful. See here.

ie. The combo of DVD-RAM plus DVD-RW/-R is gonna be more useful than DVD-RW/-R/+RW/+R, for most people (but not all people of course).

With the DVD Multi drive (from Samsung, Hitachi, or Panasonic) you'd get the flexibility of DVD-RAM data storage and DVD-RW/-R video support.

With DVD-RW/-R/+RW/+R, you don't have any real viable drag and drop data solution. You really just duplicate the support for video applications.
