A local electronics shop are emptying their storage and selling their last machines dirt cheap. Does anyone have any information on the player "GIEC 3000C" or "ASTRON 3200S", or any players based on this hardware? The website for the manufacturer is http://www.szgiec.com. Astron seems to be an alias Giec uses abroad, but does Giec have any other aliases I could use to search for experience on the players? While being region-free, Giec 3000C also seems to be Macrovisionless, which is a very good thing IMO :)

The shop is also selling the players "Starmedia DVD-3022", "Himage DVD HJ-2108 A". They seem to have Macrovision, but are they superior qualitywise? Also Himage DVD HJ-2108 P is on sale, but it is a progressive scan player and i understand these are not compatible with common television sets.
