  1. Hi all, I am a newbie and need some guidance. I have a ATI TV tuner and I am trying to backup some of my DVD collection ( I dont have a PC DVD player, I am using my PS2). I have been able to backup many to mpeg format and burn to VCD but I run into some problems with "The Gladiator" "Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels" and a few others. I start a capture and when I go to watch it I get the first 2-3 seconds of video then video seems to freeze, but the sounds are there for the whole capture. THIS DOES WORK FOR MANY DVDS, I HAVE MADE SOME MPEGS. I have read some posts about macrovision and a defeat macrovision patch, but cannot seem to find it. I have the latest ATI drivers and MMC, any ideas???

    Thanks

sorry i can't help you find the tool but kudos to you for backing up dvds using capture, I do it and people told me I was nuts, but they are GREAT QUALITY COPIES!

one question, does your computer ever freeze when capturing for such long periods (or any periods?) mine does, and I have to repair the interrupted file before I can use it.

  4. Thanks, no it doesn't freeze I have captured over 2hrs with no problems. I run both Win98 and Win2K, capture works (with the exception of macrovision) well in both.
