Virtualdub freezes/xp

Can anyone tell me what Iam doing wrong.
DVD capture @ 620x480 avi huffyuv compression using Redaon 8500DV card.
Virtualdub 1.4.10 freezes 3/4 of way though.
My systems is a Dell 4.8 processor windowsXP
512 ram
55 gigs of free hard drive formatted to NTFS

You missed an important step. Select Video-->Scan video streams for errors. Removed any junk frames.

This step was executed right after you got yout AVI file, and right before your tried to encode it to Huffyuv, remember?

This is not a avi file I downloaded off the net or something.
Im trying do a DVD capture with my DVD player (standlone) using Redaon 8500DV video card converting it to a avi.
