    Hello,
I just bought a bunch of DIVX-DVDs from curcit city.
They don't seem to play in my computer useing either my cdrom or my dvd rom.
Anyone know how to play or rip these movies on your pc.
I already have the nimo divx codec but I don't think this is the same thing as it doesn't work for playing them.
    Please someone help me ASAP.
    Thanks everyone in advance.

Are they still selling those ?. You need one of there modified DivX players.

The original Idea was to rent a movie, and the player would dial them up for authorization, once the player received that information it would play the movie, just once, unless you paid again.

Circuit city closed down with hundreds of the players on the scrap market, people did find a way to get the disks to play again

But that wont help you, the disks are no use anymore, unless you have a DivX player
