  1. I have a ATI All In Wonder 128 Pro which outputs to mp2 format. i am trying to create an SVCD. i am therefore attempting to convert the mp2 file to mpeg to burn it but utils like TMPGenc claim the file is unsupported or return an output stream error.

    ANY help appreciated!

  2. it's an MPEG-2 file, the extension is irrelevant. you can just rename it .mpg and it won't change anything. if the file is otherwise witihin SVCD specs when you capture it, just run it through the "fix12c.exe" utility, demux, and remux it with TMPG, and it should be ready to burn.

  3. Apologies for this but what is 'fix12c.exe'?

  4. it changes some wrong parameters in the MPEG headers that ATI, TMPG 12c/d/e and others put into them. specifically, the 'Display.Width" and "Display.Height". some dvd players will actually read these flags (pioneer is the main one) to try and show the image at proper size. lots of players ignore them. but if they're wrong, sometimes you get image stretching or squishing, and it only takes 5 minutes, so i think it's usually worth it anyway. here's a link to the program and more explanations...
