Hello all,
I'm in need of some help. Recently my much beloved Hollywood + card died in a lightning storm. Since then I've been forced to use the TV out of my AIW. Now it isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination and almost reaches Hollywood + levels of quality when I'm playing VCD and SVCD through WinDVD. HOWEVER. When I play DVDs there is all kinds of stuttering...Blade II was almost unwatchable. I thought that ATI was famous for it's hardware motion compensation. But when I try to enable hardware compensation in WinDVD it won't play DVDs and locks up the computer. When I use the MMC 7.5 DVD Player the jumpiness is WORSE than with WinDVD....HELP! I never had ANY jumping at all with my Hollywood magic card. I know I have a crappy DVD drive (a Toshiba...damn it!) but, again, there were never any jumps previously. Is there some hidden Motion compensation toggle I'm missing? HELP!!! I don't want to have to convert DVDs to SVCDs just to watch the bloody things....I'll buy another Hollywood Magic card if I must but it seems like my AIW should be able to handle it.
Thanks in advance
