I can put several .mpg files (mpeg-1 and mpeg-2) on a CD and play
them on this system. There are not controls function when viewing
files with smart navi in this way, but it is a way to play backup copies
of the mpg files directly on the player.
However, I can't seem to get the system to recognize the file system when I put the same files on a DVD+RW disk. It plays a normal DVD form a DVD+RW disk, but not when I put the mpg fiiles directly on the disk. It gives a disk error when trying to load. Is there a way I can put mpg files on a DVD+RW directly and play them on this machine, or is this inherent in the way the system recognizes DVD disks?
