I have a notebook computer that has a RW drive, and it came with a burning program called "Record Now." But I don't like it because I can't create VCDs or SVCDs or anything like that. I can't even burn image files with it.
So I installed Nero and CDRWIN, and they both say they support my cd burner, but I can't burn a cd with them. CDRWIN tells me that it has no devices supported, and Nero tells me the same. I am running Windows XP, and I went to the CDRWIN website and downloaded their ASPI download, and Adaptec's and ran both. I still can't use these programs.
Can anyone tell me why this is? Or if there is some kind of patch I have to download. My notebook is a HP Pavilion XH635
Thanks

I guess your writer is not supported by those programs, hard to say what might be, can you Identify the make of the writer, then you might be able to find something else to work with it.

Well I know CDRWIN says my CD writer is supported. I forgot to see about Nero.
I went to www.goldenhawk.com and clicked on supported devices.
My device is: Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R2102
(DVD/RW Combination)
So, I'm assuming it should work. I am using CDRWIN 4.0A Beta.
I just checked Nero, and it says my burner is supported.
So what else is there I can do? -
Okay, nevermind. I don't think I need help anymore, I'm pretty sure I figured out the problem.
I checked out www.nero.com and it said my device is supported in Nero Version 5.5.5.7 and above.
I have Nero Version 5.5.2.4
I still don't know why it's not working in CDRWIN, but I guess that doesn't matter.
Thanks.
