    I need help on removing the black area above and below the DVDs that i am ripping. I am afraid that this space is taking up more HDD space than it needs to be. If anyone could help, i would appreciate it greatly...

    There must be a way to crop. anyone know of a program that does it?

    You don't say when your converting with or what too

    Try DvdX it has a crop for the output size. VOB > AVI VOB > Mpeg
