HELP ME! Footage was Black in Render and then Turned Black in Timeline!

When I rendered my movie, half of it is black! Then after I tried rendering it multiple times and still having this problem, the footage in the timeline turned black in the preview screen! How can I fix this problem? And by the way, I captued the footage using XFire.

a bit more info would be nice. what program are you editing with? does the original file still exist? can you play it on the computer?

Oh sorry! I was editing with Sony Vegas 9, the files do exist, and I can play it in the project and I can play the render, but as I said it is black.

no, close vegas. play the original file with media player classic(free it's in the tools section if you need it). does the video play properly? next a copy and paste of mediainfo's(free) text output of the specs of the original file's video and audio specs would be nice.

also what are the detailed specs of what you are trying to render it to?
