  1. I've been spending hrs of time working on a DVD project, testing it from the hard drive with POWER DVD , but when i finally burn it , i saw that is not working in my standalone DVD player.

the DVD works fine in the PC with power DVD but in my dvd player the screen is black and is hanged in the first title.

is there any configuration i forgot to put? about region something or stuff like that ?

it has anything to do with a special configuracion for DVD players ?

    PLEASE HELP

Anyone that have used DVD maestro before ?
Wich are the basic configurations i should use in the project PROPERTIES?

  2. Did you setup the "First Play" with the movie?

Which DVD player you have? Has it ever worked with your DVD-Rs?

If your project is simply enough, you may want to try SpruceUp instead of Maestro. I use both extensively. SpruceUp for quick and dirty jobs while Maestro gives me very fine controls on the menu and subtitles.

  3. yep i setup a first play , but apparently he never start to play the title.

i have copied regular dvds but never authored by myself.

    i have a pioneer dv-343.

i'm sure i'm missing some important configuration, but i don't know what.

there're is an option in maestro to setup the aspect ratio of the movie , i setup for all the videos "16:9 PS/LB" and don't know if that's the problem.

i heard that DVD players are not reading 16:9 pan-scan yet, that i shoul use 16:9 letterbox.

but what if i change this ,and i burn my disc again , and don't work. i mean i'm losing my money here.

but there's something really curious .

WORKS FINE in powerDVD - so that's my doubt

  4. I've authored my own stuff out of Maestro multiple times, and it has worked like a charm, although I havent done anything in 16:9.

When you say that the movie works in PowerDVD, is that when you load it from the hard disk only? Or can PowerDVD load the dvd-r/+r just like a regular pressed dvd? If PowerDVD can't load from the disc normally (ie, without opening it in file mode and choosing the vobs on the disc) then it isn't compiled/burned correctly.

If it is loading on PowerDVD like any other DVD, than I'd suggest finding another standalone to test the disc.
    mmm....unexplained bacon...

Our extended forecast calls for flurries of passion followed by extended periods of gettin it on.

  5. I have a Pioneer DV344 and have authored in Maestro using 16:9 letterbox and have not had any problems.

  6. no actually works fine from the burned DVD too. not only from the hard disk .

falco , in the aspect ratio setup ( you put, 16:9 letterbox or 16:9 PS/LB )

because that was one of the errors that i don't know if it's causing the problem.

  7. When it works with PowerDVD it still may not work on the standalone. Had simular problems until I used IFOEdit. Using IFOEdit I mad sure in first play it pointed to the movie. Seems a lot of differences in the movie DVD's.
