I was wondering if their is a program/method availible that will reencode everything on the dvd including the extras so that it will fit on a dvd-r?

Extra could be encoded at 352x576 2000cbr so they wouldn't tkae up much space.

  2. what you choose to keep and discard of a dvd is your choice. by ripping extra features, you simply gain extra space for the main feature, so if you want to keep every feature then that just means that your main feature (or extras) will have to be encoded at lower quality.

you can use the IfoEdit & CCE guide and rip all the PGCs and reencode them with CCE (probably your best bet, especially if you're going to encode at lower bitrates) and then author a dvd using scenarist. use ifoupdate to fit the new VOBs into the original dvd structure and you're golden.

  3. Can you break your method down a little bit more? I can follow some of what you are saying but not all of it? What is PGC?

I am trying to create my first DVDR with IFOEdit and ReMPEG. Although not is any of the guides I found after wasting about 20 disks, I used REMPEG to shorten the movie file. Made new VOB files using IFOEdit, Deleted the original larger VOBs for the Movie file, Stuck these back into the orginal folder, Used GET VTS Sectors after exiting and reopening then burnt the disc. The movie works, the extras and menus are all screwed up and I can't jump to any of the last 15 chapters.

In fact I have had no luck with IFOEdit methods yet but don't want to use anything else as I lose the surround sound

You know there is a lot of steps involved here, its very messy. You know if anybody here knows any simple progrmnaing they could create a program to do all this automatically. Then chanrge maybe $5 for it. The ammount of ppl who will want this program in a few years time will reak great rewards. Just thinking it could be you guboogi.
