I am really new to the whole burning x. I was looking at the article about DVD to DVD-R with files that are bigger than 4500mb and that are located on the hard drive. It says that you are supposed to create a .CFFL file and direct it to the .VOB files that you want ReMPEG2 to look at. HOW DO YOU DO THIS? Thank you!

    Hi there,

It's pretty simple actually, rip the DVD to your harddrive, after it has ripped it open up note pad, and in there you can type the location of the ripped DVD or you can right click, select Rename, select copy and then paste that info into notepad. Just remember to copy and paste all the folders that where created when you ripped the DVD.

( MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE HIDE EXTENSIONS FROM KNOWN FILE TYPES UNCHECKED). <---- To do that in WINXP goto your harddrive, at the top select tools, then folder options, then view and take off the tick beside HIDE EXTENSIONS.

Ok, once you have copy and pasted all the info into notepad it should look like the example below...

    D:\BC_BERLIN_SCN\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB
    D:\BC_BERLIN_SCN\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB
    D:\BC_BERLIN_SCN\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_3.VOB
    D:\BC_BERLIN_SCN\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_4.VOB
    D:\BC_BERLIN_SCN\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_5.VOB

Now type in CFFL above the first line, then goto exit in notepad when it asks you where to save it choose save as and type something like this....>

"BC_BERLIN_SCN.cffl" you must include the inverted comma's or notepad will only save it as a .txt file.

Thats why you have to uncheck the Hide Extensions first so that you can create the .cffl file.

If you open your layouts ifo file in Ifoedit, there's a menu option in Ifoedit that will automatically create the cffl file for you, just give it a name and click save. Then just open the cffl in Rempeg and transcode. This feature is in version .92 and later versions.

  7. Just make sure that in IFOEDIT, you have the .ifo file open that references the VOB's you are trying to transcode (i.e. VTS_01_XX.IFO and not VIDEO_TS.IFO). THEN have IFOEDIT "Create ReMPEG2 cffl" under the Tools section of the top menu.
