I am trying to take an AVI file and convert it to an MPG and burn a VCD that will play in my DVD using Nero 5.5. The problem that I am having is that this process seems to work fine but the movie plays upside down in my DVD player. I have played other burned VCD and they work fine. Any clues?

What software did you use to encode the file to mpeg? Have you tried playing the disk on your PC? Did it play okay on there? If you are using TMPGEnc, try swapping round the field order in the video setting tab. I've never tried this and it may have no relevance but it's worth a try right? Also, did you encode to NTSC or PAL? 23.976fps and 29.976fps are NTSC, 25fps is PAL. Maybe your TV or DVD player cannot play the format you converted to. Hope this helps.
