  1. I have this lord of the rings movie on my computer and i tryed to extract he audio as the direction says in making a VCD. I am using the program VirtualDub to extract the audio but the programs just keeps on crashing. But for other movie files like Shrek it works fine. Is there a reason why it keeps crashing and is there another program that does the same job. Thanks you.

If it loads okay into TMPGEnc, you can extract the audio by selecting File-->MPEG Tools...De-Multiplex. It separates the video from the audio into two different files, and leaves the original file intact.
    Hello.

If its the 2 AVI's you downloaded, the audio is a bit low and it does use a VBR, However the latest version of TMPGEnc will convert it without having to use the audio separately. There "were" no junk frames, but you may need to scan with Vdub anyway to make sure, if it finds none, it would be fine to convert with TMPGEnc as it is.

In TMPGEnc, you would need to use the clip frame, to remove that annoying scroller message, while in full screen > keep aspect ratio
