  1. I was resizing a *.m2r file which was orginally 5.5 gig, I used a bit rate calc. reduced it to 76%. The final file was perfect size. The problem is the video is very choppy. Has anyone had this problem before. I've done several movies without any problems and suggestions?

  2. What settings are you using for rempeg2?

  3. I had the same problem with jurassic park. No matter what I did, it would never come out right. Playback, even off the hard drive, was all messed up, blurry, choppy, etc.

I have done hundreds of others without problem. Guess there are just some movies that rempeg2 cant handle.

BTW, I tried 3 different originals and all had the same problem.

  4. The movie was the Royal Tenenbaums..

    My settings for ReMPEG2 are;

    scale factor 76%
    Output resolution 720 x 480
    Search Tech. "FULL"
    Frame Mode "Match source"
    Peformance "reference DCT"

I did notice that the time was over 30 hours which should have been a clue since all the other movies are in the 12-16 hour time frame.

Royal Tenenbaums i think (but may be wrong) has both progressive and interlaced frames in it .. JP might also ..

that would cause a lot of the problems you describe

the best thing you can do is to stop using rempeg for your transcoding. get a copy of CCE SP and use it for all of your mpeg-2 encoding needs.

  8. I am having the same problem with that movie when i used Rempeg. I use smart ripper and get an .m2v and .ac3 file. Can i go from there with CCE or is their a different process?
Any help there would be appriciated.

I did manage to resize the .m2v with tmpge.... now i have an .mpg file.
I was also able to combine the .ac3 with the .mpg. sound is in sync. I need help on how i can get this on a dvd.
Spruce up was importing the .mpg but after it was done it didn't show up. DVDit locks up. I'm Stuck.

    Thanks in advance

  9. Resize (transcode) the .m2v as video only (no sound). Then you will have the .m2v and .ac3 files. Make sure they are the same name (i.e. movie.m2v and movie.ac3) and then import the .m2v into SpruceUp. It will import the .ac3 automatically and you should be all set to add the chapter points and burn.

You might need to just create the title set (not burn) in SpruceUp, so that you can edit the final VTS_01_0.IFO with IFOEDIT and change the aspect ration from 4:3 back to 16:9 (assuming that it's widescreen).
