  1. I have 2 different systems i have tried this Pioneer DVR-104 in.

Using Princo DVD-RW's as my media from Discsdirect.com

Trying to burn Data Dvds & Iso Images.

    1 - Athlon 600mhz, 384 meg ram, asus k7m, via chipset, XP

2- Duron 700mhz 128 meg ram, fic w/ via chipset, XP

I first thought it was a bad drive so i returned it for another 104 now I have another drive and i once again and trying burns.

The most common error i keep receiving now w/ this one is :

    Error 10 at Sector ( this # varies ) - Buffer Underrun - Command:2A Sense:05 Asc:21 ASCQ:02

When I looked this up under primo this is what it tells me ?

5 21 02 Invalid Address For Write Incremental

Now how can this keep happing being the drive is buffer underun proof?
I did read alot of threads about PIO & Dma etc , I have tried to go into
the bios and set the drive for PIO Mode 4 and disabled DMA still same results.. I have tried over 50 total Princo DVD-RW's and still have yet to come across a good burn, once i had a Data cd actually complete with Disc juggler but nothing could read it afterwards.. I have tried using Disc Juggler, Recordnow DX, Recordnow Max and Primo DVD.

Anyone able to offer some past experience , Ideas, anything i am willing to hear it all

Thanks for your time w/ this thread

how much data are you trying to burn? try burning around 1gb.

Also, try using nero to burn the DVD.

  3. Bartman,

Around 4 gig was my data i had tried to burn, also i have tried to burn several iso images of things and keep running across these buffer underruns. I did a few times get some good burns but they didnt work afterwards..

  4. I am with bartman, use Nero. Does the error happen when you do not try to burn 4 GB of data ? Bartman might be right there too, a certain amount of space is needed for the disc format, you may be going over it.

Isn't this sorta like the error people were getting when their drive controller settings needed to be changed? Let me take a look....

Darnit! I can't find the link... its somewhere on Pioneers site.
