  1. I totally new to DVD ripping, i have ripped a few DVD's sucessfully to single CD's. I have a few films which are longer (140mins) which i require to backup to 2 or 3 VCD's.

At the moment i use CladDVD, TMPGE & VCD and the TMPGE template explained in 'The newbies guide to fitting a movie on one CD using TMPGEnc' guide located on this site.

I have tried using a TMPGE 2 disc template from KVCD but it only seems to output the file to one .mpg file.

Can I split this file? Is there a template to produce 2 .mpg files? Am i using the right software? Help

Sorry if this is a stupid question, any advice is much appreciated

    Many Thanks

The method that I use is to set the source range in the [Setting]->(Advanced) for each part and then batch encode the 2 or 3 'discs' that way there is no cutting of mpeg files and saves on hard drive space (and time)

  3. Take a look at http://www.vcdhelp.com/bbmpegedit.htm. It works very well for splitting one large MPEG into burnable size.

In TMPGEnc on the file menu goto Mpeg tools and then merge & cut.
