It was to my understanding that when you use VBR that it uses less space then CBR. My question is: When using TMPGEnc you select your number of frames before you select CBR/VBR so how do you know if its gonna be less until after it has encoded it? I am trying to RIP Lord of the Rings, It is gonna take 5 80min CD's using CBR. I wanted to try VBR to see if I could cut that to 4 CD's.T.I.A.
