  1. this really doesn't fit into any forum, but...

i'm looking for a good image of the vcd logo. anyone know where i can find one?

the reason is to make a 3d thx-like intro for my discs... i'm doing everything to make my my vcds look very professional.

  2. First thing you should think about when doing that is "what is professional"? Things produced "professionally" have all sorts of bullshit branding and advertising stuck anywhere they think they can get away with putting it.

Making intros might seem like a fun idea, but really it's just getting in the way, and detracting from the quality in the case of SVCD or non-standard VCD formats.

  3. i know what you mean, and i know what pisses me off about DVDs with all the crap they put you through so don't worry, i'm not going overboard here, it will be simple and fast but professional.

doesn't anyone know where there's an official VCD site, or any site, with the logo?

  5. There's a VCD logo on the box my Apex DVD player came in. Maybe yours has one too.

hpv: Are you going to watch his videos? It's fun to play; and there's no better way to gain expertise. But I sure agree with you about bullsh*t branding stuck EVERYWHERE! And credits are getting longer than movies these days.

  6. Thanks Kitty! Much appreciated.

I just have a computer DVD drive, so no VCD logo.

  7. There's also a .zip with loads of image files of logos for VCD/SVCD/DVD/THX/Dolby etc.. in the tools section of this site, under "Other useful tools"...

maybe more useful for covers etc.. but might help you if you want to make intros and the like.

    cheers,
