  1. I have a hard time to decide if i should use mpeg-1 or mpeg-2.

I run a vidoe site where i want the largest % to be able to play the movies.

I hear mpeg-1 , everyone can play, but them mpeg-2 have better compression / quality, and not EVERYONE can play it without installing the codec

    Can anyone confirm this ?

MPEG-1 is the way to go as far as being backwards compatible.

Even an old 486 running Windows 95 and 32 MB ram should be able to play an MPEG-1 @ 1500 kbps and a frame size of 320 x 240.
