When playing on a non-widescreen TV, the top and bottom of the SVCDs I've created does not show up. To me, it looks like the problem could be that the 480x480 mpeg is not displaying fullscreen, and instead stretching uniformly both horizontally and vertically.
I figured it probably wasn't the player, since I've had the same problem on both an RCA RC5240P and a Sony DVP-NS715P. However, the SVCDs do display properly with WinDVD 4.
I've been using TMPGEnc to encode and Nero to burn. I've tried a few settings for the source aspect ratio and the video arrange method after following the guides here. The sources I've tested were 640x480 AVIs.
Let me know if anything is unclear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, this post should have gone in the Newbie Conversion forum.
Think I found the problem. Looks like this is an issue with TMPGEnc's Fullscreen (keep aspect ratio) option, and it does not seem to be working all the time. Going to try playing with the Center (custom size) setting.
