What are all the pins for? Does your audio go over that same cable too?

No, only video is found on an S-video cable. The four tiny pins do all the magic. S-video has a separate 75-ohm cable for chroma and for luma. Therefore, two pins are for chroma, and two are for luma. Two pins are used for each to supply the signal (one pin) and ground (the other pin).
