I have a Sony DVP-NS400D. It was all I needed until I got an HDTV just recently. When I first bought it a year or two ago I didn't need progressive scan and bought it to save a few hundred versus getting a progressive scan DVD player. Now that I'm flat broke thanks to my TV, I'm wondering, can my DVD player be updated to progressive scan? I know this is a stupid question, but when I bought the player, I declined to get an update service for my DVD player, and now I'm thinking whether or not this would have updated. My DVD player is otherwise perfect, component output, optical and 5.1 channel output, reads CD-R and CD-RWs. If I'm out of luck, I might have to scrimp for a DVD player with progressive scan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Matt
