  1. I can not find any guide that specifically address the latest 5590 version. How does one make dvd-r that plays on settop players? I get no warnings of bad VOBs or IFOs but the dvd-r just dont play.

Ulead movie factory created dvd-r works just fine?

    thanks

  2. i use Primo DVD myself as i find it more reliable but with nero you just select DVD video compilation and make sure that the directory names are in uppercase as some set top players seem to require this.

  3. I think you have to author it before you burn it in Nero.

  4. You mean to create the VIDEO_TS folder and populated it with VOBs and IFOs - I already do that and despite my effort no go. However if I use imagetool to create an image out of that VIDEO_TS folder and then burn the image with Ulead burning program, it all works?

It sounds to me like Noro has compliance problem? Any ideas?

  5. Are the check boxes on the Misc tab unchecked? They created problems in 5.5.8.2 on VCDs

Probably not it but it sounds like you're doing things ok.

honestly I'd just use Ulead DVD factory, I just started to use it a week ago and I can't believe how easy it is. I'm still using the (full) trial version, but I love it so much I'll prolly buy it in a month.

  7. drewson99,

One question - while DVD MF is completing the last step 6of6 - that is burning the previously created image to the dvd what does it say as speed? I am confused, mine says "BURNING CD AT x9 speed" but I have seen screenshots that show "BURNING DVD AT x1 speed". The latter is making more sense since its a DVD process, not a CD.

Now this is strange, it thinks its making a CD but its actually making DVD and it all works just fine once finished?

    Thanks

  8. Nomo Burning Rhymes...

I believe the original DVD-ROM standard called for a disc spin and read speed that was approximately the same as 8x CD-ROM for data transfer. It may have been a little higher, around 8.5x... So that may be the reason for your seeing that "burning CD at 9x" message. If a DVD were burning at 1:1 time frame, that would be roughly the same as 8/9:1 burning for a CD.

  9. Just close the nero wizzard and select DVD VIDEO from the list om your left. Click new and drag your vob's to the video_ts folder.

Burn the thing... if you have trouble reading disk..burn at slowest speed.

Should work. Works for me...though I use DVD+rw ... the layout is the same.

    greetz.

  10. I posted about this particular problem(?) on this board. Do a search for Nero UDF and you should find some info to your problem.
