  1. i had a friend capture a video for me, and hes apparently gone for a while now. he told me he capture the sound too, but he sent me a .mp2 file which threw me off a little at first. i try to play it and all i get is video, after media player tries to download a codec (what a suprise)

    so ive got two questions:

    1) how can i tell if there is even any audio on the file
    2) if there is audio, how in the world do i get it to work.

    ive been playing codecs the last couple hours and havent gotten it to work, any help is greatly appreciated.

    load the file into tmpgenc "tools" -> "demultiplex" -> and see if there are 2 streams -- if there are , demultiplex both of them and play the audio mpa file...

  3. cool, i got two streams, but the audio stream is completely silent. im guessing the kid that captured it didnt do it right.
