  1. Hey guys I'm capturing some DV via the firewire port and then using premiere to sync better audio to the DV. Its some dmb concerts...but i am having a slight problem with the audio quality in premiere. The wav file i import is perfect quality but when i export the final video or even watch it in premeire there is noticable audio distortion...or like a light fuzz in the background...I am using 48K audio in premiere is it because the .wav file is only 44.1K? please help!

  2. Donald,
I am working on a Premier 6 project now.
I have had what sounds like a similar thing, like a high pitched tinny buzz,
as though you're playing it through tin foil?

Quite often, along with that, the sound starts off delayed, and speeds up for a second, as if to catch up. I'll get lots of clicks too. I also noticed that any 'rubberband' effects, such as fading up or down stopped working.

If this is the same problem, I generally close premier, and restart it.
I've also tried deleting the audio track off the timeline and reinserting it.
Also I find that if your timeline has gaps in either the audio or video, it sometimes doesn't like that. I always put in a blank clip of video, or some scrap piece of audio on zero volume.

Sorry to be vague, there's probably something fundamental I'm doing wrong which gets corrected by all my messing about.
If this doesn't help, try the adobe.com forum, there are a lot of knowledgable people on there.

Let me know how you go on, especially if you find out the true solution!

    Steve.

  3. I figured it out...but its a more difficult solution. Because DV audio is 48k and the .wav from cd are only 44.1k we run in to problems. To solve it we must convert the .wav to 48k and then put it in premiere. But if you want to use tmpgenc to make vcd or svcd then you need to extract the .wav and convert it back to 44.1 before encoding.
