  1. When doing a conversion is it better to do the conversion through the wizard or should it just be done manually? I have tried converting one file and after it was done played it in Windows Media Player and it seemed to have worked without any problems, but after about 10 minutes of video the audio disappeared. Why would it suddenly disappear like that?

In the Project Wizard I've noticed what was called the Source Range. Does a range have to be set all the time? I have a 205 meg file with about 40 minutes of video. If there are any specific settings that I should be using or something I should be doing when using this program any input would be appreciated.

    Thank You.

Manually or wizard, if you select the same type of output, it will be the same. However why use the wizard at all, just load a VCD template and start

If you have not checked the AVI for junk frames in Vdub, chances are you have some at 10 minuets into the movie, which would cause a problem during convert.

The source range would be used for other things, like encoding part of the AVI, when you have loaded a template, there is nothing else you need to change, unless you have changed any of the items under settings

  3. Download this version of Virtualdub:
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html
Scroll down to the version marked mp3_freeze.
Do a scan for bad frames.Remove them then re-encode.
Also extract audio in Virtualdub as a WAV then use resulting WAV as audio source in TMPGE.
