  1. I've been cutting my mpeg2 files with tmpgenc so far, but I have the problem that sometimes I get the stream reading error, almost at the end of the process. The file comes out ok by surprise, but I'm always missing 5-8 seconds of audio rightbefore the point of where the cut is made. Why does tmpgenc do that?

Also, I tried cutting with powervcr II and it was REAL quick! but there is a problem! The video is choppy, ever few seconds there is a few second freez, very quick, hardly noticeable but it's there. So this program sucks. Is there another progrma that you guys can suggest that cuts mpeg2s quickly and efficently?

I get stream reading errors, but only with the latest version - 2.57.

You could try bbMPEG. It's in the tools section, but under *encoders*.

  3. so it's a common error then. It give that error when it's writing or reading the svcd headers at the end of the encoding. The file comes out ok though. I tried BBMpeg and that process is way longer, first demultiplex in tmpgenc, and then put in the bbmpeg and cut and then multiplex it again. That's way too long.

I tried m2 edit and that was wack. Audio comes out of sync and picture pets choppy.

Tried vcdcutter and that also messes up, Same thing choppy video wher the cut takes place.

I's a common error for me with mpeg-2, right at the end of cutting or multiplexing, when dealing with the SVCD header, as you said. But only with 2.57. When I first got these errors, I just multiplexed with an earlier version, with no problems. Now for mpeg-2 I've gone back to 2.56.
