SVCD 2 VCD Conversion

I've followed the instructions to convert an svcd 2 vcd as in the ''How to convert a SVCD(MPEG2/MP2) to VCD or XVCD or DVDR'' but I have a problem loading the audio file (.mpa) into tmpgenc....I followed the bit as its says in the bottom of http://www.vcdhelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm#problems
about (..Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try reopen the video and audio)
and I still can't load the audio file into tmpgenc
any ideas??
also the frame rate of the movie is 20fps.. as it says in DVD2AV, is this the problem??if so how can I change this movie

the audio file which DVD2AV gave me is movie MPA T01 DELAY -101ms.mpa

can anyone help!!! or figure a way so I could change this mpa file to something else?? ie:to a wav

mpa file is a compressed audio mpeg file .. which as you noted - doesnt load into TMPGEnc .. so convert it to wav (soundforge or vegas is what i use for that) or just do the video only part and remux the audio back into it.

is there a way to just convert the MPEG file, copied from the SVCD in to two files, one video (.d2v) and one audio file (.wav) using DVD2AVI?
I'm using version 1.76 of DVD2AVI and it doesn't have the MP3 Compress option under the audio window (as it does in Sefy's DVD2AVI DVD Converions Guide)
what version is that or how can I get this option, cus then I can save the audio to a wav or mp3 then[/img][/code][/quote]

i dont think every post need to be in bold ...

just demultiplex the video and audio into a video m2v and audio mpa file .. its not a wav file on the svcd

I thought I finally got over the problem when converting the .d2v and the .mpa file by using the newest version of TMPEnc (v2.57) cus my older version (2.01) didn't let me input the .mpa file.
anyway, everything was going well with the encoding upto 2/3rds of the film then an error came up ''Read error occured at address 01F63B of module 'DVD2AVI.VFP' with 01C4371C''
I have a feeling that the SVCD has errors on cus it jumps alittle at the point where the error come up..and I've tried to do what you said before bu tno luck...

is there a way to fix SVCD (MPEG) file that are on the cd before I 'DVD2AVI' it cus I think thats where the problem lies..

The MPEG file I copied from the SVCD has the following info which dBpowerAMP
compression ratio: 7 to 1
Bit rate(kbps): 192
frequency(Hz): 44100
Channels: 2
Channel mode: stereo
Layer: MPEG 1 Layer 2
Encodded by: Lame

hmm interisting .. what i would try in that case (looks like what you say a bad spot in the file) is to :

1. try to demultiplex the audio/video and then re-multiplex and then de-multiplex again and load the sperate into tmpgenc

or

2. demultiplex the audio and convert to wav and load the wav in to tmpeg (this is what i would do anyway no mater what)

huh..

I just load the mpeg2 svcd in tmpgenc without any convertion filters or whatever and just make a xvcd of it and the quality is great...

i dont get where this DVD2AVI shit is all about

/me loads the svcd (*.mpg) then converts to *.mpg using video-cd non-standard.
