I just bought my first VCD and when I tried to play in on my DVD player, it came across very bumpy with lines running through it. I tried it on my computer and it works fine. Is there any way I can get it to work on my stand alone DVD player? There is also a chance that the VCD is recorded in PAL. The back of the case says it was made in Singapore. I'm not sure if this is the way PAL plays on an NTSC player. Can somebody help me?

Does your DVD player have a brand name and model number? (The crystal ball isn't working well today...)
One more question: Is this VCD a professionally pressed VCD, or just a VCD somebody burned on recordable media? As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
It's a professionally pressed music VCD. I was trying it on a Sylvania TV/DVD/VCR combo and it wouldn't ever work. But then I tried it on a GE1101P and it worked.

Does the "Sylvania TV/DVD/VCR" have a model number?
