  1. just put together a solution combining some stuff i read off several places regarding MMC 7.7 not allowing captures to save. the problem occurs when mixing file systems, and sometimes on NTFS-only setups. the record light goes red, but no box pops up, and no file is saved.

    things to do:
    -make a directory
    "ATI MMC"
    on the target drive (NTFS)

    -then make subdirectories
    "ATI MMC\All users"
    "ATI MMC\username"
(where username is your logon name).

-then edit the security permissions (properties/advanced) of all of these folders and give "full control" to "everyone", and turn off read only.

    - here's the new part: go into ATI TV setup and UNCHECK "always capture to temp drive". set the temp drive to be the target drive though. under ONE TOUCH RECORD properties, set the destination to the target drive too.

(if you still have probs, set "temp drive" to a FAT32)

i've been battling with this for a while, but now 7.7 does actually record
when installed on a win2k FAT32 system drive to an NTFS RAID correctly.

hope this makes some sense and saves people some hassles...

  2. You're the best. I beat my head on this until I realized (by mistake) that it would only record on my Fat32 boot drive. My NTFS drive is the one I WANT to use, but until I read this, I couldn't figure out how.

    Thanks again!!!
