Blank Screen for AVI Conversion.. Please Help Me!

Hi,
I have recently gotten Scooby Doo on AVI from a Client.. When I convert it using the directions on VCDHELP, the screen turns blank. I have used all programs and nothing works. After I convert or ENCODE the SOUND is GOOD! But the screen is blank there is no picture. Will my DVD player reconize a picture and my computer doesnt, or am I doing something wrong? I have tryed to make the AVI sound into a WAV file, and make the seperate AVI and WAV files for the audio and video. But still after encoding when I go to play the video, there is no picture, its just a black screen. And when I try to get an mpeg from my File Sharing Client, there always busy! Is there a webpage out there that has many MPEG 1 VCD's????? It would really help if there was!

Make sure you have the codec (Nimo codec pack), but try this

TMPGEnc
Select options > environmental settings
click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4
