  1. Has anybody installed the HP DVD200i firmware update (version 1.27) and if so, what changes have been made in the new firmware?

  2. Changes in Ricoh 5125A Firmware V.1.27
    1:Playability for scratch DVD improved.
2:CD digital Audio Extraction perfomance for scratch disc improved.

Since both the Ricoh and HP now have the same 1.27 firmware, I assume that the firmware changes should be the same.

Warning: Both 5125A Firmware V.1.27 and DVD200I/E have Problems with Nero 5.5.8.2, See:

Nero 5.5.8.4 (for Ricoh 5125A only)

  3. mrdish2000, thanks for the info. I'll leave my firmware as it is for the time being as I don't have any scratched DVD's yet. As the saying goes, "if it isn't broken, don't fix it"...

  5. Have you or anybody else tried the patch?

  6. I have and it worked for me. Although you have to use the HP setup program to make it work. You can revert back to 1.06 if you need to do so (using the rflash program). I think that you need to reinstall the HP programs afterwards.

  7. I installed the 1.27 firmaware in the HP dvd 200i. I cannot tell the difference for what I'm doing.

I have used Nero 5.5.9.0, HP applications, and Movie factory for burning DVDs. They all work and there was no difference before or after the latest firmware.
