Bad is a direct capture using ads instant tv straight to vcd
good is that capture run through tmpeng with default quality settings.

Is there a piece of HARDWARE that can give the results of good.mpg or better without software refinement? Maybe through a buffer and frame analysis?

The best results were ovbisously capturing to avi then converting.. idvd can't do that. But what i want to know is if there is in fact a piece of HARDWARE that can save me some time and achieve GOOD results. even my good.mpg doesn't look that great. I will chop a 3rd clip from a 5mbps capture that was reduced to xvcd. that is good.

Sufficed to say i am taking back teh idvd package. I hope.. if the receipt is still around.
