Pinnacle Studio 8

They say improved mpeg quality in studio 8 but has anyone used their DV capture to MPEG-2 and if so is the quality......QUALITY!!!

I read the promos on Studio 8 but couldn't find anything that stated the MPEG2 encoder has improved over Studio 7. Do you know if they have improved it? Studio 7 is a good editing program, but the MPEG2 conversion for SVCD use is terrible. I can't make a watchable SVCD unless I up the bitrate to the point that it is not compatible with 99% of standalone players. With Studio 7 I am forced to output AVI and encode with TMPGEnc or CCE if I want passable quality.
Pinnacle does mention that Studio 8 can import and edit mpeg2 files which was not possible using version 7.
