  1. It looks that for a long time we PC user where never able before to make
movies out of asf or wmv but now since windows ME came out we can
make our own movie so macs are no longer the only type of computer
that can make movies anyway thats great but does anyone know any
M$ software that makes asf or avis out of bmps?

TMPGEnc can do this for you .. make sure all bmp are in same folder, make sure they are number in order (like this 00000.bmp , 00001.bmp , 00003.bmp and so forth) ..

load the first bitmap into TMPGEnc and set up your filters and range.

then select file - > output to file -> avi (select what type of avi you want to make) ...

    thats it ..

Great answer, but what do you mean by "filters and range"?
    Hello.

filter = as in settings in TMPGEnc for cropping or colour correction or whatever ....

range = as in if you didnt want all of the bmp made into avi (though on reflection - prob wouldnt use this this case) ..

you will have to set source as progressive and you can set output to either interlaced or progressive (progressive much better results) ..

you can use targa files (and now compressed targas also in latest version of TMPGEnc) , targa have to be RLE bottom up ussually if they dont register.

also you can use Jpeg files also .. but not jpeg2000 ..

to quickly rename even 10's of thousands of stills or in my case frames , use "renamer" or (better) ACDSee ..

if you are planning a fairly large project in fairly good Resolution, i would not use bitmap as you would need a lot of room .. convert all your images to jpeg with 100 quality setting ..
